Arrive at Samburu Simba Lodge for check-in and a refreshing welcome drink. After a delicious lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive in Samburu, famous for its unique wildlife, including the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, and Somali ostrich. Witness the spectacular sunset over the Ewaso Ng’iro River, which flows through the reserve, providing a lifeline for the animals. Return to lodge for a sumptuous dinner at the camp or Lodge
Overview:
Samburu National Reserve is a special prize for those who safari off the beaten path. The big cats – lion, leopard, and cheetah – prowl this rugged land of acacia trees, riverine forest, and broad savannahs. Cutting through the dry plains, the Ewaso Ng’iro river provides an oasis for the many species including over 900 elephants, who drink at its life-preserving waters.
Itinerary Detail
We start the day with early with a refreshing breakfast before proceeding on a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Comeback to the lodge for Lunch. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening, you will set out on a game drive as you explore this reserve and continue to spot unique animals’ dinner and overnight at camp or Lodge.
After breakfast seize the opportunity for one last early morning game drive, perhaps spotting animals that eluded you in the previous days. Later check out and bid farewell to Samburu National Reserve. On your way back to Nairobi, enjoy lunch at a scenic spot along the way. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at the airport or Nairobi hotel
